Melanie Trump Aired Her View on the #MeToo Accusation

The first lady of the United States of America Melania Trump inquired proof of the claims the sexual assault victim made but also showed her support.

In an exclusive with her on ABC News in Egypt, during her trip to Africa this October where she addressed the ongoing #MeToo movement, where she was asked if she believes in the accusers and if she actually supports the campaign, Mrs Trump responded, “I support the women, and they need to be heard. We need to support them, and you know, also men—not just women.”

A correspondent from ABC News, Tom Llamas also asked the First Lady “Do you think men in the news that have been accused of sexual assault, sexual harassment have been treated unfairly?”

Mrs Trump argued that “We need to have really hard evidence that if you’re accused of something—show the evidence,” she explained.

Llamas urged her to change her answer as it might not favour her stand with other woman and advised Mrs Trump to change her position. She, however, made her stand known and said, “I do stand with women, but we need to show the evidence. You cannot just say to somebody I was sexually assaulted, or you did that to me or…because sometimes the media goes too far and the way they portray some stories—it’s not correct. It’s not right.”

Donald Trump has continuously denied accusations from several women of illicit sexual misconduct.  After this pointed out, she immediately revealed what she’s found most surprising about being the first lady.

“It’s sad to see that organisations and foundations I want to partner with choose not to because of [the] administration,” she added, “I feel they’re choosing the politics over helping others.”

She didn’t make the name any particular organisations, she went further to state, “I don’t want to put them out in front of the world, but they know who they are.”
