Jael Strauss, one of America’s top super model contestants has been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer.
The former reality TV star from detroit shared with people on social media that she was informed of her diagnosis at the beginning of the Breast cancer awareness month.
At the beginning of her post on social media, the model wrote “I was gonna write some long thing but some of you guys deserve to know. On October 2nd I was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. It has aggressively spread throughout my body and is incurable. With treatment it may prolong my life longer than the ‘few months’ doctors said I could make it.”
Strauss said according to the doctors, the title of her condition is rapidly progressive metastatic inflammatory breast cancer.
“I don’t want to die,” the ANTM Contestant candidly wrote. “I need another one of those miracles that I got back in 2013.”
In late 2012 Strauss featured on Dr Phil where her battle with alcohol was publicly revealed and an intervention was staged for her. Though Strauss felt she was exploited on the Dr Phil show, she embarked on a recovery journey and celebrated five years of sobriety.
“I know a few things to be true: Miracles are real, Recovery is possible for everyone no matter how far gone you think you are,” she wrote on social media at the time. “We are never too broken to be put back together, Service work feels better than the greatest high, Sobriety makes you weirder not normal and I’d be dead if it weren’t for all the love and forgiveness I’ve been showered with by my friends and family.”
Since the model was diagnosed of the illness, her friends have set up a GoFundMe for her where they have been able to raise 6000 Dollars out of the 15000 Dollars target they set.
The GoFundMe page explains that the lady is in pain, and also at risk of losing her health insurance.
The fund raiser page reads “She has just begun chemo, but we do not know how things will play out. What we do know is that Jael is putting all of her energy and drive into fighting this insidious disease and can use as much support and love as possible.”
Support this beautiful soul in whatever way you can and help save a life from the grasp of breast cancer.
